2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 egg yolk

1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

Optional toppings: fresh fruit, fruit preserves, or powdered sugar for drizzle

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, egg yolk, lemon juice, and ground cinnamon. Whisk until smooth and well blended.

      Unroll the crescent roll dough, separating it into triangles along the perforated lines. Arrange the triangles on the prepared baking sheet, with the wide side facing outward.

        Starting from the wide end, gently stretch each triangle slightly to make it thinner and wider. This will help create a fluffier danish.

          Spoon an ample tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture onto the center of each triangle.

            Carefully fold the points of the triangle over the filling to create a small pocket or shape your danishes as you prefer (like forming a pinwheel or twisting the dough).

              Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a golden finish.

                Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the pastries are golden brown and puffed.
