Before you begin assembling your pizza, it's crucial to preheat your oven to the optimal temperature—typically around 375°F (190°C). Preheating is a vital step in baking, as it ensures that your pizza cooks evenly and achieves that perfect golden-brown crust. Allowing your oven to reach the desired temperature before placing the pizza inside helps to lock in flavors and create the ideal texture.

Ingredients

2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls

1 pound ground beef (or turkey)

1 packet taco seasoning

1 cup refried beans

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup diced tomatoes

1/2 cup sliced black olives

1/4 cup chopped green onions

1/2 cup shredded lettuce

1/2 cup sour cream

1 ripe avocado, diced (optional)

Taco sauce (for drizzling)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Crescent Roll Crust: Unroll the crescent rolls and lay them out on a large baking sheet, pressing them together to form a single rectangular sheet. Pinch the seams to seal.

Pre-bake the Crust: Pre-bake the crescent roll crust in the oven for about 8-10 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.

Cook the Meat: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat, then add the taco seasoning according to package instructions. Mix well and set aside.

Assemble the Pizza: Spread refried beans evenly over the pre-baked crescent roll crust. Then layer the seasoned ground beef on top of the beans.

Add Toppings: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the beef, followed by diced tomatoes and sliced black olives.

Bake: Return the assembled taco pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish: Once baked, remove from the oven and top with chopped green onions, shredded lettuce, diced avocado (if using), and dollops of sour cream. Drizzle with taco sauce for an extra kick.

Slice and Serve: Cut into squares or wedges, and serve warm. Enjoy your delicious Crescent Roll Taco Pizza!
