Ingredients

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 large egg

1/2 cup sour cream

2 tablespoons buttermilk

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 tablespoon cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon red food coloring

1/2 cup white chocolate chips

Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cream Sugar and Butter: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy. This should take about 3-4 minutes.

Add Wet Ingredients: Add the egg, sour cream, buttermilk, vanilla extract, and red food coloring to the butter-sugar mixture. Mix until well combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

Mix Together: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix. Gently fold in the white chocolate chips.

Shape the Cookies: Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the tops are slightly cracked. The centers might look slightly underbaked, but they will continue to set as they cool.

Cool Down: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Dusting (Optional): Once cooled, you can dust the cookies with powdered sugar for an added festive touch.

Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 40 minutes | Servings: About 24 cookies
