Ingredients

1 package (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix

3 cups milk (for pudding)

2 packages (3.4 oz each) instant chocolate pudding mix

1 tub (8 oz) whipped cream cheese frosting

1 package (14 oz) Oreo cookies

1 cup powdered sugar

1 cup chilled whipped topping

1 cup gummy worms

1 package (1 oz) edible grass (or green coconut shreds)

Chocolate bunny (for decoration)

Instructions

Prepare the Cake: Bake the chocolate cake according to the package instructions. Allow it to cool completely before handling.

Make the Pudding Layer: In a large bowl, combine the 3 cups of milk with the two packages of instant chocolate pudding mix. Whisk together until smooth and set aside to thicken for about 5 minutes.

Mix the Frosting: In another bowl, mix the whipped cream cheese frosting with powdered sugar until well combined and fluffy. Then, carefully fold in the chilled whipped topping until smooth.

Combine Mixtures: Gently fold the thick chocolate pudding into the frosting mixture until smooth. This will be your creamy dirt layer.

Crush the Oreos: Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until finely crushed to resemble dirt. Alternatively, you can place them in a zip-top bag and use a rolling pin to crush them.

Assemble the Cake: In a large, clear trifle dish or bowl, start by layering half of the crushed Oreo cookies at the bottom. Then, spread half of the pudding and frosting mixture over the Oreos.

Repeat Layers: Add another layer of crushed Oreos, followed by the remaining pudding and frosting mixture. Finally, top with the remaining crushed Oreos for an earthy final touch.

Decorate: Scatter gummy worms on top of the dirt cake and sprinkle with edible grass (or green coconut shreds). Finally, place a chocolate bunny on top, making it look like it’s hopping out of the dirt.

Chill: Cover the dessert with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight) before serving, allowing the layers to meld together.

Serve: Once chilled, serve this delightful Easter Bunny Dirt Cake to your guests, and enjoy the compliments!
