Ingredients

3 ripe bananas, mashed

1/3 cup melted butter

1 teaspoon baking soda

Pinch of salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup sugar (can be reduced to 3/4 cup for less sweetness)

1 large egg, beaten

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4x8 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

Mix the Butter and Bananas: In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter with the mashed bananas. Stir until well mixed.

Add the Rest of the Ingredients: Stir in the baking soda and salt. Mix in the vanilla extract and the beaten egg. Then, gradually add the sugar and mix until combined. Finally, fold in the flour, ensuring not to overmix. If using, add the nuts and cinnamon at this stage.

Pour and Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool and Serve: Once done, remove the banana bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
