1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

1 large egg

1/2 cup whole milk

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup fresh or frozen cherries, pitted and halved

1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.

    Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk together until well blended.

      Add Wet Ingredients: Add the egg, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined; do not over-mix.
