Ingredients

1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup finely chopped fresh herbs (such as basil, parsley, and thyme)

1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Optional: red pepper flakes for a kick

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle, about 1/8 inch thick.

Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the entire surface of the pastry.

Add the chopped herbs, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper over the cheese. If you like it spicy, sprinkle some red pepper flakes too.

Starting with one long side of the rectangle, carefully roll the pastry towards the center until you reach the halfway point. Then roll the other side towards the center so that the two rolls meet in the middle.

Wrap the rolled pastry in plastic wrap and place it in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes for easier slicing.

Once chilled, remove the pastry from the freezer and slice it into 1/2 inch thick rounds.

Place the palmiers flat on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.

Brush the tops of each palmier with the beaten egg to give them a golden color when baked.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up.

Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your savory palmiers warm or at room temperature as a delightful appetizer or snack!
