Ingredients

1 can (29 oz) sliced peaches in syrup, undrained

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar (divided)

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1 cup milk

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Ice cream or whipped cream, for serving (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Baking Dish: Pour the undrained canned peaches into a 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading them evenly.

Make the Batter: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, 1 cup of sugar, baking powder, and salt. Gradually stir in the milk until the mixture is smooth.

Incorporate Butter: Pour the melted butter into the batter and fold gently to combine. It’s okay if a few lumps remain.

Combine Mixtures: Pour the batter evenly over the peaches in the baking dish. Do not stir; the peaches will bubble up through the batter as it bakes.

Sprinkle the Topping: In a small bowl, mix the remaining 1/4 cup sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter.

Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Serve: Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving. Serve warm, with a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream if desired.
