Ingredients

1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed)

4 oz cream cheese (softened)

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 cup fresh jalapeños (seeds removed and finely chopped)

1/4 cup crispy bacon bits (optional)

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

Flour (for dusting)

Sea salt (for sprinkling)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped jalapeños, bacon bits (if using), garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until all ingredients are well blended and set aside.

Roll Out the Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry into a rectangle, about 1/8 inch thick.

Cut the Pastry: Using a pizza cutter or a sharp knife, cut the pastry into equal strips, approximately 1 inch wide and 6 inches long.

Fill and Twist: Take a strip of the pastry and place about a tablespoon of the jalapeño popper filling on one end. Fold the end over the filling and then twist the entire strip to create a spiral shape. Place it on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining strips.

Apply Egg Wash: Brush the tops of the twisted pastries with the beaten egg to give them a golden, shiny finish.

Sprinkle with Sea Salt: Lightly sprinkle sea salt on top of each twist for added flavor.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the twists are puffed up and golden brown.

Cool and Serve: Allow the Jalapeño Popper Twists to cool for a few minutes before serving. They are best enjoyed warm!
