Ingredients

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

4 slices of bread (white, brioche, or your choice)

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup breadcrumbs (panko recommended for extra crunch)

Oil for frying

Whipped cream (for serving, optional)

Fresh mint leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Cheesecake Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and creamy. Set aside.

Assemble the Sandwiches: Spread a generous layer of the cheesecake mixture on two slices of bread. Top with sliced strawberries and cover with the remaining slices, creating two sandwiches. Press down lightly to secure.

Prepare for Frying: Set up a breading station. Place the flour in one shallow dish, the beaten eggs in another, and the breadcrumbs in a third.

Coat the Sandwiches: Dip each sandwich first in the flour, covering all sides, then coat it in the beaten eggs, and finally press it into the breadcrumbs to ensure an even coating.

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or deep frying pan, heat about 1 inch of oil over medium heat. To test if the oil is ready, drop a small piece of breaded sandwich into the oil; it should sizzle immediately.

Fry the Sandwiches: Carefully place the breaded sandwiches into the hot oil, frying for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Do not overcrowd the pan; you may need to fry in batches.

Drain Excess Oil: Once golden, remove the sandwiches from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Serve: Slice the fried sandwiches diagonally and serve warm, dusted with additional powdered sugar. Add whipped cream on the side and garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired. Enjoy your indulgent treat!
