Ingredients

2 pounds frozen hash browns, thawed

1 cup sour cream

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup

1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

½ cup melted butter

1 medium onion, finely chopped

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 cup corn flakes, crushed

2 tablespoons dried parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large mixing bowl, combine the thawed hash browns, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, 1 cup of cheddar cheese, melted butter, chopped onion, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.

Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish, spreading it out evenly.

In a separate bowl, combine the crushed corn flakes with the remaining ½ cup of cheddar cheese. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the potato mixture.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges bubble.

Once baked, allow to cool for about 10 minutes before serving. Optionally garnish with dried parsley for a touch of color.
