Ingredients

8 oz soft goat cheese, at room temperature

1/2 cup fig jam (store-bought or homemade)

1/4 cup walnuts, finely chopped

2 tbsp honey

1 tsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped (or 1/2 tsp dried rosemary)

1/2 tsp black pepper

A pinch of sea salt

1 French baguette, sliced into rounds

Olive oil for drizzling

Arugula or mixed greens for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Baguette: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet. Drizzle with a little olive oil. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden and crispy.

Mix the Goat Cheese: In a medium bowl, combine the softened goat cheese, chopped walnuts, honey, fresh rosemary, black pepper, and a pinch of salt. Mix until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated and creamy.

Assemble the Appetizer: Once the baguette slices are toasted, remove them from the oven. Spread a generous tablespoon of the goat cheese mixture onto each slice.

Top with Fig Jam: Add a dollop of fig jam on top of the goat cheese spreading it slightly for an even distribution.

Garnish: If desired, sprinkle some additional chopped walnuts on top and add a sprig of fresh rosemary for an elegant touch.

Serve: Arrange the appetizers on a platter, garnish with arugula or mixed greens around the edges, and drizzle a little more honey over the top if you like. Serve immediately.
