Ingredients

2 slices of artisan sourdough bread

2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup fresh blueberries

1/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon honey (optional)

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

A pinch of sea salt

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Start by spreading the softened cream cheese evenly on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.

On one slice, layer the fresh blueberries evenly on top of the cream cheese, followed by the shredded sharp cheddar cheese.

Drizzle honey over the blueberries and cheese if you desire added sweetness.

Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over the top to enhance the flavor.

Place the second slice of bread on top, cream cheese side down, creating a sandwich.

Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter in it.

Once the butter is bubbling, carefully place the sandwich in the skillet. Grill until the bottom is golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.

Flip the sandwich carefully and add the remaining butter around the edges. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the other side is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Remove from the skillet and let it cool for a minute before slicing.

Optionally, garnish with fresh basil leaves for a pop of color and added flavor.
