Ingredients

12 Hawaiian rolls

12 slices deli ham

12 slices Swiss cheese

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

½ cup warm water

1 cup baking soda

1 tsp coarse sea salt

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp brown sugar

Dijon mustard (for spreading)

Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Sliders: Without separating the rolls, cut the entire Hawaiian roll pack in half horizontally. Spread Dijon mustard on the cut side of the bottom half.

Layer Ingredients: Place a layer of ham evenly over the mustard, then add the Swiss cheese slices on top. Place the top half of the rolls back on.

Make the Pretzel Bath: In a large pot, bring 8 cups of water to a boil and mix in the baking soda. Make sure to be cautious as it may bubble up.

Prepare the Butter Mixture: In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, and sea salt.

Pretzel Bath: Carefully drop the assembled sliders, cut side down, into the boiling baking soda bath for about 30 seconds. Remove with a slotted spoon and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Brush with Butter Mixture: Brush the tops of the pretzel sliders with the melted butter mixture. If desired, sprinkle with sesame seeds for added texture and flavor.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Serve: Allow the sliders to cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve warm.
