Ingredients

  • 4 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts pounded to an even thickness
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix dry seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • 1 cup chicken broth low sodium preferred
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat your skillet over medium heat and add olive oil. Season the pounded chicken breasts with salt, pepper, ranch dressing mix, dried parsley, and dill weed on both sides.
  • Once the oil is hot, add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt the butter and add the chicken broth. Using a wooden spoon, scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Allow the broth to simmer for about 3-4 minutes until slightly reduced.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the gravy thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the creamy gravy over them. Let them heat through for about 2 minutes.
  • Serve the herb ranch chicken hot, drizzled with the creamy gravy. Pair it with your favorite sides like mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables.

Notes

Tip 1: For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the ranch dressing mix for a few hours before cooking.
Tip 2: Leftover gravy can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Variation: Substitute the chicken with pork chops or turkey cutlets for a different twist.
