Ingredients

6 slices of thick bread (such as Brioche or Challah)

1 cup eggnog

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

A pinch of salt

1 tablespoon unsalted butter (for cooking)

Whipped cream (for topping)

Ground cinnamon and nutmeg (for garnish)

Maple syrup (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Eggnog Mixture: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggnog, eggs, vanilla extract, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

Soak the Bread: Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and add the butter, allowing it to melt and coat the surface. Dip each slice of bread into the eggnog mixture, making sure to coat both sides thoroughly. Let the excess drip off before placing it in the skillet.

Cook the French Toast: Place the soaked bread slices in the skillet, cooking for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. You might need to do this in batches, depending on the size of your skillet.

Serve: Remove the French toast from the skillet and plate it. Top with a dollop of whipped cream, a sprinkle of ground cinnamon and nutmeg, and drizzle with maple syrup before serving.
