2 cups fresh broccoli florets

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    In a pot of boiling water, blanch the broccoli florets for about 2-3 minutes until tender but bright green. Drain and transfer to a bowl of ice water to halt the cooking process. Drain again and pat dry with a paper towel.

      Place the blanched broccoli florets in a large bowl, add the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Toss until the broccoli is well coated.

        Using the bottom of a cup or a flat object, smash each broccoli floret to about ½ inch thick.

          Arrange the smashed broccoli on the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over each piece.

            Spray the tops lightly with cooking spray for extra crispiness.

              Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crispy. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.

                Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy these crispy, savory snacks with your favorite dip or on their own!
