Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 cup water (warm)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1/2 cup marinara sauce (plus more for dipping)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup sliced pepperoni (or your choice of toppings)

1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)

1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

Instructions

Make the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder. Slowly add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms. Knead for about 3 minutes on a lightly floured surface until smooth. Cover with a towel and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Preheat the Oven: While the dough rests, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Roll Out the Dough: Once the dough has rested, divide it into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a circle about 6 inches wide on a floured surface.

Fill the Pizza Pockets: On one half of each dough circle, spread a tablespoon of marinara sauce. Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese on top, followed by a few slices of pepperoni and a pinch of Italian seasoning if desired.

Seal the Pockets: Fold the other half of the dough circle over the filled side. Press the edges firmly to seal them, then use a fork to crimp and further secure the edges.

Brush with Egg Wash: Place the sealed pizza pockets on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a golden finish.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and crispy.

Serve: Allow the pizza pockets to cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm with extra marinara sauce for dipping.
