Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

¾ cup granulated sugar

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 teaspoon almond extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

½ cup finely chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

½ teaspoon salt

Powdered sugar, for rolling

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Cream the Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Add Flavorings: Mix in the vanilla and almond extracts until fully incorporated.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, chopped nuts, and salt until well combined.

Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, blending well until a soft dough forms.

Shape the Cookies: Using a small cookie scoop or your hands, shape the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the bottoms are lightly golden. The tops will remain pale.

Cool and Roll in Powdered Sugar: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack. When they are completely cool, roll each cookie in powdered sugar until fully coated.

Serve or Store: Enjoy them fresh or store them in an airtight container at room temperature. They can last for up to a week.
