Ingredients for Sizzling Herb-Butter Grilled Steak

Juicy Grilled Steak with Herb Butter

This juicy grilled steak with herb butter is a simple dinner recipe made with everyday ingredients. Perfect for busy days and family meals.

Ingredients

2 ribeye steaks (1-inch thick)

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped

1 tablespoon fresh thyme, finely chopped

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped

1 teaspoon lemon zest

Optional: 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce for marinade

Instructions

Preparation: Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature (about 30 minutes). This helps achieve an even cook.

Seasoning: Season the steaks generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper on both sides. If desired, you can also marinate the steaks with Worcestershire sauce for added flavor (optional).

Make Herb Butter: In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, thyme, parsley, lemon zest, and a pinch of salt. Combine until all ingredients are well incorporated. Spoon the mixture onto a piece of parchment paper, roll them into a log shape, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill to high heat (around 450°F/230°C). If using a charcoal grill, ensure the coals are very hot.

Grilling: Drizzle the steaks with olive oil and place them on the hot grill. Cook without turning for about 4-5 minutes, creating a nice crust. Flip the steaks and grill for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, or longer if you prefer your steak more well done. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy: aim for around 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.

Rest the Steak: Once cooked to your liking, remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for about 5-7 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.

Serve: While the steak rests, slice the chilled herb butter. After resting, place a slice of herb butter on each steak and let it melt beautifully over the meat before serving.

Enjoy: Serve with your favorite sides, such as grilled vegetables or a fresh salad.
