For the dough:

4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast

1 tsp salt

3/4 cup milk, warmed

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

Zest of 1 lemon

For the filling:

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

2 tbsp lemon juice

Zest of 1 lemon

2 tsp ground cinnamon

For the glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tbsp lemon juice

Zest of 1 lemon

Instructions
 

Prepare the dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together the warm milk, melted butter, eggs, and lemon zest. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.

    Knead the dough: On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

      Make the filling: In a medium bowl, mix together the softened butter, brown sugar, lemon juice, lemon zest, and cinnamon until combined.

        Roll out the dough: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a lightly floured surface. Roll it into a rectangle approximately 1/4 inch thick.

          Spread the filling: Evenly spread the lemon filling mixture over the rolled-out dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.

            Roll and cut: Starting from one long side, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seam to seal. Using a sharp knife or dental floss, cut the log into approximately 12 equal pieces.

              Prepare for baking: Place the rolls in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, cover with a kitchen towel, and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.

                Bake Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

                  Make the glaze: While the rolls are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest in a small bowl until smooth.

                    Glaze the rolls: Once the rolls are done baking, remove them from the oven and drizzle the lemon glaze over warm rolls.
