Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup mini marshmallows

1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

1/2 cup coconut flakes (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Add in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, chopped nuts, and coconut flakes (if using) until evenly distributed in the dough.

Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop heaping portions of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.

Once baked, remove cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
