12 oz (340g) rotini or fusilli pasta

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

8 oz (225g) fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini), halved

1 cup fresh basil leaves, packed

1/2 cup creamy pesto sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1/4 cup Greek yogurt (or sour cream)

1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil

1 clove garlic, minced

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Optional: 1/4 cup pine nuts, toasted

Optional: Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to cool it down. Set aside.

    Prepare the Pesto Dressing: In a bowl, combine the creamy pesto sauce, Greek yogurt, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

      Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, add the cooled pasta, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella balls, and fresh basil leaves. Pour the pesto dressing over the top and gently toss everything together until all ingredients are well coated.

        Adjust Seasoning: Taste the salad and adjust the seasoning with more salt and pepper if necessary. If using, fold in the toasted pine nuts for added crunch.

          Chill: Cover the bowl and place the pasta salad in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
