Low-carb diets focus on reducing carbohydrate intake while increasing the consumption of proteins and fats. This dietary approach has gained traction due to its potential benefits for weight loss, blood sugar control, and overall health. By limiting carbohydrates, the body shifts from using glucose as its primary energy source to utilizing fat, a process known as ketosis. This shift can lead to a variety of health benefits, including reduced hunger, improved mental clarity, and increased energy levels.

Ingredients

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 cup crumbled cooked bacon (about 6 slices)

2 tbsp green onions, finely chopped

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup chopped mixed nuts (optional, for coating)

Instructions

In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.

Mix all the ingredients together until well combined and smooth.

Using your hands, scoop out about 1 tablespoon of the mixture and roll it into a ball. Repeat with the remaining mixture.

If desired, place the chopped mixed nuts on a plate and roll each cheese ball in the nuts to coat.

Place the cheese balls on a serving platter or in an airtight container. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

Serve the mini cheese balls with toothpicks or as an appetizer with your favorite low-carb dipping sauce.
