Ingredients

1 package (15.25 oz) Oreo cookies (or similar chocolate sandwich cookies)

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 cups whipped topping (Cool Whip or homemade)

2 cups chocolate pudding (prepared)

1 1/2 cups gummy worms (for garnish)

1 cup dirt alternative (sweetened cocoa powder or crushed cookies)

Instructions

Prepare the Oreo Crust:

    - In a food processor, crush the Oreo cookies until they become fine crumbs.

      - In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with melted butter, mixing well until the crumbs are fully coated.

        - Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish to form the crust.

          Create the Cream Cheese Layer:

            - In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.

              - Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, continue mixing until creamy and well blended.

                - Fold in the whipped topping gently until fully combined.

                  Assemble the Layers:

                    - Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the Oreo crust you've made.

                      - Pour the prepared chocolate pudding over the cream cheese layer, spreading it gently to avoid disturbing the cream cheese layer.

                        Add the Dirt:

                          - Sprinkle the sweetened cocoa powder or crushed cookies over the chocolate pudding layer, creating a 'dirt' effect.

                            Garnish:

                              - Decorate the top with gummy worms, burying some slightly into the 'dirt' for a fun look.

                                Chill and Serve:

                                  - Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight is best) to allow the layers to set.

                                    - Once chilled, serve chilled and enjoy your delightful No Bake Dirt Cake!
