Ingredients

24 Oreo cookies, crushed (plus extra for garnish)

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups whipped topping (like Cool Whip)

1/2 cup chocolate fudge sauce (optional for layering)

1/4 cup chocolate shavings or sprinkles (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Base: In a medium bowl, combine the crushed Oreo cookies with the melted butter. Mix until the crumbs are well coated and resemble wet sand.

Form the Crust: Press the Oreo mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9x9 inch square baking dish to form a firm crust. Place in the refrigerator to set while you prepare the filling.

Make the Cream Cheese Filling: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Gradually add in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing well until fully combined.

Fold in Whipped Topping: Gently fold in the whipped topping until no streaks remain. Be careful not to deflate the mixture; it should be light and airy.

Layer the Filling: Remove the crust from the refrigerator and spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the crust. If desired, drizzle a layer of chocolate fudge sauce on top (about 1/4 cup).

Add Another Layer: Repeat the process with the remaining cream cheese mixture, spreading it evenly over the fudge layer. If you prefer, skip the fudge layer and simply add the second layer of cream cheese filling.

Chill: Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to allow the dessert to set properly.

Serve: Once set, slice into squares and garnish with additional crushed Oreos, chocolate shavings, or sprinkles on top for a festive touch.

Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 4 hours 20 minutes (plus chilling time) | Servings: 9-12 squares
