Ingredients
  

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

2 large eggs

1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice

Zest of 2 oranges

1 teaspoon ground cardamom

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional: Powdered sugar or orange glaze for topping

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.

    Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cardamom, and salt. Set aside.

      Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

        Add Eggs: Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.

          Incorporate Orange Juice and Zest: Add the freshly squeezed orange juice and orange zest to the butter mixture. Mix well.

            Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix.

              Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, smoothing the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
