The Oreo cookie, as we know it today, has a rich history that dates back to the late 19th century. Originally created by the Nabisco company in 1912, the Oreo was designed to be a unique sandwich cookie that combined two chocolate wafers with a sweet cream filling. Over the years, the Oreo has evolved tremendously, introducing various flavor combinations and forms, from the classic Double Stuf to seasonal flavors like Pumpkin Spice and Red Velvet.

Ingredients

6 Oreo cookies, plus more for garnish

2 cups vanilla ice cream

1 cup milk (whole or your preference)

1/4 cup whipped cream (for topping)

1 teaspoon chocolate syrup (optional, for drizzling)

A pinch of crushed Oreo cookies (for garnish)

Instructions

Crush the Oreos: In a zip-top bag, crush 6 Oreo cookies using a rolling pin until they are coarse crumbs. Set aside a tablespoon for garnish.

Blend the Milkshake: In a blender, combine the crushed Oreo cookies, vanilla ice cream, and milk. Blend on high until smooth and creamy. If you prefer a thicker shake, add more ice cream, and for a thinner consistency, add a splash more milk.

Taste and Adjust: Taste the milkshake and add additional crushed Oreos if you want a deeper cookie flavor. Blend until well combined.

Serve: Pour the milkshake into chilled glasses. Top with whipped cream, drizzle with chocolate syrup if desired, and sprinkle the reserved crushed Oreo cookies on top.

Garnish: For an extra touch, place a whole Oreo cookie on each glass as garnish.

Enjoy: Serve immediately with a straw and enjoy the creamy, cookie-filled delight!
