Ingredients

2 large heads of fresh broccoli, cut into florets

4 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Zest of 1 lemon

Juice of 1 lemon

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and black pepper to taste

1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional for crunch)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

Prepare the Broccoli: In a large mixing bowl, toss the broccoli florets with olive oil, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, smoked paprika, and a generous pinch of salt and pepper. Make sure the broccoli is evenly coated.

Add Lemon Zest & Juice: Stir in the lemon zest and half of the lemon juice, mixing well. This will infuse the broccoli with a bright flavor.

Spread onto Baking Sheet: Arrange the seasoned broccoli in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Roast the Broccoli: Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until the broccoli is tender and edges are crispy. Halfway through roasting, give it a good stir to ensure even cooking.

Add Cheese and Pecans: After 20-25 minutes, remove the broccoli from the oven. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese and chopped pecans over the top.

Final Bake: Return to the oven for another 5-7 minutes until the cheese is melted and slightly golden.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, drizzle with the remaining lemon juice, and garnish with chopped parsley before serving. Enjoy your flavorful, festive broccoli dish!
