Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 egg

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup chopped pecans

Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Make the Crust: In a medium bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the flour and salt, mixing until combined. The dough should be moist but not sticky.

Form the Tart Shells: Divide the dough into 24 equal portions and press each portion into the bottom and up the sides of ungreased mini muffin tins to form a shell. Make sure they are evenly distributed.

Prepare the Filling: In another bowl, whisk together the egg, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined. Fold in the chopped pecans.

Fill the Shells: Spoon the pecan mixture into each of the dough shells, filling them about 3/4 full.

Bake: Place the muffin tins into the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is lightly golden.

Cool: Remove the tins from the oven and let the pecan tassies cool in the tins for about 10 minutes. Carefully remove them and allow them to cool completely on a wire rack.

Serve: For a lovely finishing touch, dust with powdered sugar before serving. Enjoy these delightful treats with coffee or tea!
