Ingredients

2 cups granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon peppermint extract

1/2 cup white chocolate chips

1/4 cup crushed peppermint candies (plus extra for topping)

A pinch of salt

Green and red food coloring (optional)

Instructions

Prepare Your Pan: Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper, making sure to leave some overhang for easy removal. Set aside.

Combine Sugar and Cocoa: In a medium saucepan, whisk together the granulated sugar, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt.

Cook the Mixture: Pour in the heavy cream and place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until the mixture comes to a boil.

Add Butter: Once boiling, add the unsalted butter and continue stirring until melted and fully incorporated. Allow it to boil for 5 minutes without stirring.

Incorporate Flavor: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla and peppermint extracts. Next, add in the white chocolate chips and stir until melted and smooth.

Swirl in Peppermint: Fold in the crushed peppermint candies, then divide the fudge mixture in half. Add green food coloring to one half and red food coloring to the other if desired.

Layer the Fudge: Pour the red mixture into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Then, pour the green layer on top, spreading it out gently to avoid mixing.

Create Swirls: Use a skewer or the end of a spoon to gently swirl the two colors together, creating a marbled effect.

Chill: Sprinkle extra crushed peppermint on top for garnish. Refrigerate the fudge for at least 2 hours, or until firm.

Serve: Once firm, use the parchment paper to lift the fudge out of the pan. Cut into squares and enjoy your festive treat!
