Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast

1 tsp sugar

½ tsp salt

¾ cup warm water (110°F)

1 tbsp olive oil

1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)

1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup sliced pepperoni

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp garlic powder

1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

Instructions

Prepare the Dough:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix well. Slowly add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.

      Knead the Dough:

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

          Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

              Roll Out the Dough:

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick. Use a pizza cutter or a knife to cut the dough into 6 equal squares.

                  Fill the Calzones:

On one half of each square, sprinkle a generous amount of mozzarella cheese, add a layer of pepperoni, and sprinkle with oregano and garlic powder. Leave a small border around the edges.

                      Fold and Seal:

Fold the other half of the square over the filling to create a pocket. Press the edges together firmly, then crimp with a fork to seal completely.

                          Brush with Egg Wash:

Place the calzones on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a golden finish.

                              Bake:

Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and puffed.

                                  Serve:

Let the calzones cool slightly before serving. Heat the marinara sauce for dipping, and enjoy your homemade Pepperoni Paradise Calzones!
