Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast

¾ cup warm water (about 110°F)

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 cup sliced pepperoni

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

Marinara sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

Knead the Dough: Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Prepare the Filling: In a bowl, combine sliced pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, and dried oregano. Mix well.

Roll Out the Dough: Once risen, punch down the dough and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll it into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick.

Assemble the Rolls: Sprinkle the pepperoni and cheese mixture evenly over the dough. Starting from one end, roll the dough tightly into a log.

Cut and Place: Slice the log into 1½-inch pieces and place them seam side down on a greased baking sheet, leaving some space in between each roll.

Second Rise: Cover the rolls with a towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Bake the Rolls: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
