Ingredients

1 lb ground beef or ground turkey

1 medium onion, finely chopped

1 green bell pepper, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)

1 cup beef broth

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

4 slices provolone cheese (or cheese of your choice)

4 hamburger buns or hoagie rolls

Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Sauté Veggies: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper, sautéing until they are soft, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and mushrooms, cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the mushrooms are tender.

Cook Meat: Push the vegetables to the side of the pan and add the ground beef (or turkey) to the center. Cook until browned and no longer pink, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Combine Ingredients: Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard. Mix well to combine everything evenly.

Simmer: Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and cook on low heat for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed.

Melt Cheese: Once the mixture is heated through and slightly thickened, place the slices of provolone cheese on top. Cover the skillet for a couple of minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Assemble Sloppy Joes: While the cheese melts, toast your hamburger buns or hoagie rolls lightly if desired. Spoon the cheesy beef mixture onto the buns.

Garnish & Serve: Optionally garnish with chopped parsley for a fresh touch. Serve immediately and enjoy your Philly Cheese Steak Sloppy Joes!
