Ingredients

1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 medium onion, sliced

1 medium green bell pepper, sliced

1 cup mushrooms, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 cup beef broth

8 oz. egg noodles

1 cup shredded provolone cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish.

Cook the steak: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the thinly sliced flank steak. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Brown the steak for about 5 minutes, then remove it from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté the vegetables: In the same skillet, add the sliced onion, green bell pepper, mushrooms, and minced garlic. Sauté for 5-7 minutes, until the vegetables are soft and fragrant.

Combine beef broths: Pour the beef broth into the skillet with the sautéed vegetables. Stir everything together for about 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Cook the egg noodles: In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the egg noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Mix everything together: In a large bowl, combine the cooked egg noodles with the skillet mixture (beef and vegetables). Stir until everything is evenly coated.

Layer in the casserole dish: Transfer half of the noodle mixture to the greased casserole dish. Sprinkle half of the provolone and mozzarella cheese on top. Then, layer the remaining noodle mixture and finish with the rest of the cheese.

Bake: Cover the casserole dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Serve: Once baked, let the casserole cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley, slice, and serve warm.
