Ingredients

1 package (1 lb) pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup marinara sauce (plus extra for dipping)

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup sliced pepperoni

1/2 cup sliced bell peppers (any color)

1/2 cup sliced black olives (optional)

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional for spice)

1 egg (beaten for egg wash)

Olive oil (for brushing)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.

Add Sauce and Fillings: Spread the marinara sauce evenly over the rolled-out dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, followed by the sliced pepperoni, bell peppers, black olives, oregano, garlic powder, and crushed red pepper flakes if using.

Roll it Up: Starting from one of the long edges, carefully roll the dough tightly into a log. Make sure it is snug but not too tight to avoid squeezing out the fillings.

Slice the Pinwheels: Using a sharp knife or a serrated knife, cut the rolled dough into 1-inch thick slices. You should have about 12-14 pinwheels.

Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the sliced pinwheels on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a nice golden finish, and light drizzle of olive oil is optional.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.

Serve: Allow the pinwheels to cool for a couple of minutes before serving. Serve warm with extra marinara sauce on the side for dipping.

Prep Time: 15 mins | Total Time: 35 mins | Servings: 12 pinwheels
