Ingredients

4 (6-ounce) salmon fillets, skin on

1/2 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed)

1/4 cup honey

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon cornstarch (mixed with 2 tablespoons water)

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, orange juice, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and black pepper. Whisk well until the honey is fully dissolved.

Pour half of this mixture into a ziplock bag or a shallow dish, add the salmon fillets, and marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

In a small saucepan over medium heat, bring the remaining marinade to a gentle simmer. Cook for about 5 minutes, then stir in the cornstarch mixture to thicken. Continue to cook for another 3 minutes until it reaches a glaze-like consistency.

Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove fish from the marinade and discard the used marinade. Place salmon fillets skin-side down on the grill.

Grill the salmon for about 5-7 minutes on each side, depending on the thickness, basting with the orange teriyaki glaze during the last couple of minutes.

Once cooked through and slightly charred, remove the salmon from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes.

Serve the salmon drizzled with additional orange teriyaki glaze, topped with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
