Ingredients

For the Cobbler:

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 cup whole milk

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

For the Cream Cheese Layer:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 large egg

For the Topping:

1 tablespoon cinnamon sugar (1 tablespoon sugar mixed with 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch square baking dish or a similar-sized container.

Prepare the Cobbler Batter: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon. In another bowl, mix the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Gradually combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until well combined and slightly lumpy.

Pour the Batter: Spread the cobbler batter evenly into the prepared baking dish, making sure it covers the bottom.

Prepare the Cream Cheese Layer: In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and egg together until smooth and creamy.

Add the Cream Cheese Layer: Carefully spoon the cream cheese mixture over the cobbler batter, spreading it evenly but not mixing it in.

Sprinkle with Topping: Dust the top with cinnamon sugar for an extra sweet and spicy finish.

Bake: Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted into the cobbler comes out clean.

Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool for about 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm, optionally topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
