Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup powdered sugar (for coating)

1 tablespoon cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

Prep the Flour: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the all-purpose flour on a baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes to toast gently. Allow it to cool completely.

Make the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. This should take about 3-5 minutes with an electric mixer or by hand.

Add Flavors: Mix in the vanilla extract, baking powder, cream of tartar, and salt. Gradually add the toasted and cooled flour, mixing until fully combined and a dough forms.

Chill the Dough: Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up, making it easier to roll into truffles.

Form the Truffles: Once chilled, scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough and roll them into balls, placing them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Prepare Coating: In a small bowl, combine the powdered sugar and cinnamon. Roll each truffle in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until they are completely coated.

Final Chill: Return the coated truffles to the refrigerator for another 30 minutes to set.

Serve: Serve the truffles chilled or at room temperature. They can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
