Ingredients

2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

2 tablespoons sugar (or to taste)

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup whole milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

In a medium bowl, combine the sliced strawberries and sugar. Toss gently and let them sit for about 10-15 minutes until the strawberries release their juices, creating a sweet syrup.

In a separate pitcher, whisk together the buttermilk, whole milk, vanilla extract, and lemon juice until well combined.

Once the strawberries are ready, add them (along with any juice) to the milk mixture and stir gently to incorporate.

Chill the strawberry buttermilk in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.

Serve cold in glasses, garnished with fresh mint leaves if desired, and enjoy the refreshing taste!
