Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup warm milk (110°F)

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp salt

Filling:

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup confectioners' sugar

1/2 cup strawberries, diced

1 tsp lemon juice

1 tsp vanilla extract

Icing:

3/4 cup powdered sugar

2 tbsp milk

1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Dough Preparation: In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk with a pinch of sugar. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Add the melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, and the frothy yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Prepare the Filling: In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, confectioners' sugar, diced strawberries, lemon juice, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Roll out the risen dough on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 12x16 inches). Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough.

Starting from the long edge, carefully roll the dough into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces.

Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise again for 30 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

Make the Icing: In a bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Once the rolls are out of the oven, let them cool slightly, then drizzle the icing on top.

Serve warm and enjoy the delightful blend of flavors!
