Ingredients

1 box yellow cake mix

1 cup sour cream

1/2 cup vegetable oil

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped (or frozen, thawed and drained)

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

Mix the Cake Batter: In a large bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, sour cream, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.

Prepare the Strawberry Filling: In a separate small bowl, combine the chopped strawberries, brown sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon. Stir gently to coat the strawberries with the sugar.

Layer the Cake: Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Then, layer the strawberry mixture over the batter. Finally, pour in the remaining cake batter on top, ensuring to cover the strawberries.

Swirl the Cinnamon: In a small bowl, mix the remaining cinnamon with a little brown sugar (about 1 tablespoon) and sprinkle it over the top of the batter. Use a knife to swirl it gently to create a marbled effect.

Bake the Cake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Prepare the Glaze: While the cake is baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth.

Cool and Glaze: Once the cake is done baking, allow it to cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes. Drizzle the glaze over the warm cake before serving.

Serve and Enjoy: Cut into squares and serve warm or at room temperature, and enjoy your delicious Strawberry Honeybun Cake!
