Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup sweetened condensed milk

2 cups all-purpose flour

½ cup powdered sugar, plus more for dusting

½ cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans work well)

1 tsp vanilla extract

¼ tsp salt

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cream the Butter: In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the softened butter and ½ cup powdered sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.

Add Sweetened Condensed Milk: Mix in the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Slowly add this dry mixture to the butter mixture until a soft dough forms.

Add Nuts: Gently fold in the chopped nuts until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Shape the Cookies: Using your hands, take small portions of dough (about 1 tablespoon each) and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the bottoms are lightly golden, but the tops should remain pale.

Dust with Powdered Sugar: Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool for about 5 minutes on the baking sheet. Then, while they are still warm, dust them generously with powdered sugar.

Cool Completely: Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely. Dust with extra powdered sugar before serving if desired.
