Ingredients

1 unbaked pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup light corn syrup

4 large eggs

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups pecan halves

Optional: Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Pie Crust: If using a homemade pie crust, roll it out and fit it into a 9-inch pie pan. Trim and crimp the edges according to your preference. If using a store-bought crust, place it into the pie pan and set aside.

Make the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, and salt. Mix well until thoroughly combined.

Add Eggs: Crack the eggs into the sugar mixture one at a time, whisking after each addition until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Flavor it Up: Stir in the vanilla extract and mix until fully incorporated.

Incorporate Pecans: Gently fold in the pecan halves, ensuring they are well-distributed throughout the filling.

Pour into Pie Crust: Carefully pour the mixture into the pie crust, spreading the pecans evenly if necessary.

Bake: Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes or until the center is set and a knife inserted comes out clean. The crust should be golden brown.

Cool: Once baked, remove the pie from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours. This will help the filling set further.

Serve: Slice the pie into wedges and serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired. Enjoy the flavors of your delicious homemade pecan pie!
