Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

2 tablespoons honey

2 tablespoons sesame oil

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (for thickening)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Cooked rice or quinoa (for serving)

Instructions

Make the Teriyaki Sauce: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir gently and bring the mixture to a simmer.

Thicken the Sauce: Once the sauce is simmering, gradually whisk in the cornstarch mixture. Keep stirring for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.

Prepare the Salmon: Preheat your grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season them lightly with salt and pepper.

Glaze the Salmon: Brush the thickened teriyaki sauce generously on the salmon fillets.

Grill the Salmon: Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the grill. Cook for 6-8 minutes, then brush more teriyaki sauce on top. Flip and grill the other side for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Serve: Once cooked, remove salmon from the grill and let rest for a minute. Sprinkle sesame seeds and sliced green onions on top for garnish. Serve with cooked rice or quinoa, drizzling additional teriyaki sauce over the dish if desired.

Enjoy: Dig into the deliciously sweet and savory flavors of your homemade teriyaki salmon!
