Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets steamed until tender
  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional for heat
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken pieces and season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Sauté until the chicken is golden and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add the minced garlic to the skillet with the chicken and cook for an additional minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine, allowing the mixture to simmer for about 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the steamed broccoli, chicken mixture, and half of the mozzarella cheese. Mix well to ensure the broccoli is evenly coated with the creamy sauce.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese. If using, sprinkle red pepper flakes on top for added heat.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. For a golden top, broil for an additional 2-3 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  • Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Tip 1: Make sure the chicken is fully cooked before adding the cream to avoid a raw taste.
Tip 2: This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Variation: Substitute the chicken with shrimp for a seafood twist.
