Ingredients

6 large croissants, torn into pieces

1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp cinnamon

4 large eggs

2 cups milk

1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Optional: Zest of 1 lemon for extra flavor

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prep the Croissants: In a large mixing bowl, tear the croissants into bite-sized pieces. Spread half the croissant pieces evenly into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle the blueberries evenly over the croissants.

Make the Cream Cheese Mixture: In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until smooth and creamy.

Layer the Mixture: Take spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture and dollop it on top of the blueberries and croissants. Use a spatula to spread it out gently.

Add the Remaining Croissants: Top with the remaining croissant pieces.

Prepare the Egg Mixture: In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Pour this mixture evenly over the layered croissants and blueberries, ensuring all areas are soaked. You can gently press the croissants down to help absorption.

Let it Sit: Allow the casserole to sit for about 15-20 minutes. This helps the croissants soak up the egg mixture.

Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.

Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Dust with powdered sugar before serving. Optionally, sprinkle some lemon zest on top for added freshness.
