Ingredients

For the Sweet Rolls:

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

¼ cup granulated sugar

1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup whole milk

¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Cheesecake Filling:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

¼ cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon lemon juice

½ cup sliced strawberries (fresh or frozen)

For the Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons milk

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Prepare the Dough: In a small saucepan, heat the milk until warm but not boiling. Remove from heat, add the sugar and yeast, and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until bubbly.

Make the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until combined and then knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth.

Let it Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Prepare the Filling: While the dough is rising, in a medium bowl, beat together the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice until smooth and creamy. Gently fold in the sliced strawberries.

Roll and Fill: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 12x18 inches. Spread the cheesecake filling over the dough evenly, leaving a small border.

Shape the Rolls: Starting from the longer side, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

Final Rise: Cover the rolls with a kitchen towel and allow them to rise again for about 30 minutes.

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Bake: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown.

Make the Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Glaze the Rolls: Once the rolls are out of the oven, allow them to cool slightly before drizzling the glaze over the top.

Serve: Enjoy warm, letting the sweet and tangy flavors of strawberry cheesecake explode in each bite!
